Yesterday, I had a lot of people tell me that my photography reminded them of loneliness. Personally I don’t see it…and that got me to thinking that maybe everyone has a little bit of loneliness inside of them and that they see in others what they can’t understand about themselves…I know this isn’t a big revelation and that everyone already knows this, but I think that I never fully comprehended before just how real it is and what not

This is of when my dad drove off the road on top of the mountain. I have been in quiet situations before, but never had I experienced such complete, indefinite silence as there was on that mountain top. There was nothing. There was no one. There was mist, and fog, and a light wind brushing quietly through the the air. The road went on forever until finally it disappeared over the hills, and right behind me my dad was swearing at the car as he tried to push it out of the deep and muddy ditch. It was so odd because in that moment I should have felt annoyed and frustrated but all I felt was happiness. The end.
